چکیده
The demand for conservative esthetic dentistry has dramatically grown and so has the rapid development of new non-restorative treatments for discolored teeth. Nightguard vital bleaching has become one of the most frequently used treatment modality for improving the esthetic appearance of teeth, primarily because of its relative ease of application, the safety of 10% carbamide peroxide bleaching materials, reduced patient chair time, lower cost, and high percentage of success. The recent development of a strip-based system allows for vital tooth bleaching without fabrication of a custom tray. Applied directly to the tooth surface, this thin, flexible polyethylene strip coated with a hydrogen peroxide bleaching gel may afford some in-use advantages relative to tray-based systems. Carbamide peroxide is usually used at a concentration of 10% to 15% in dental bleaching. 10% carbamide peroxide is equivalent in strength to 3% hydrogen peroxide. In Situ and In Vitro Effects of Two Bleaching Treatments on Human Enamel Hardness.
The aim of this study was to evaluate in vitro and in situ the effects of two bleaching treatments on human enamel surface microhardness. Sixty enamel slabs from recently extracted thirty molars were used. The specimens were polished with sandpapers under water-cooling. The enamel samples were randomly divided in four groups, treated with 10% hydrogen peroxide (HP) or Whitening Strips (WS) cont...

Bleaching agents have effect on chemical/physical and morphological structure of enamel and dentin that must be taken into account when this therapy is used. The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the effects of two bleaching agents containing a high concentration of hydrogen peroxide for professional use on human enamel and dentin surface and to evaluate the potential remineralizing ef...

Background and Aims: The main cause of erosion is acid exposure . Side effects of erosion necessitate therapeutic agents’ uses. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of nano- hydroxy apatite in tooth remineralization following exposure to soft beer. Materials and Methods: This in vitro experimental study was conducted on 18 human impacted third molars that had been surgically...
متن کاملEffect of incorporation of remineralizing agents into bleaching gels on the microhardness of bovine enamel in situ.
AIM This study evaluated the effect of adding calcium or fluoride to 35% hydrogen peroxide (HP) bleaching gel and the effect of human saliva on the microhardness of sound and demineralized enamel, using an in situ model. MATERIALS AND METHODS Cylindrical bovine enamel specimens (3 × 2 mm) were divided into two groups (n = 30): sound enamel (SE) and demineralized enamel (DE). Each group was di...

OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of home-use bleaching agents containing 10% carbamide peroxide and 7.5% hydrogen peroxide on enamel microhardness and surface micromorphology. MATERIAL AND METHODS Enamel slabs (n=10) received the bleaching agents for 1 h/day and remained in artificial saliva solution for 23 h/day, during a total period of 21 days. Control group was...
